Home Depot's Schumacher Joins Kerr McGee

Carol Schumacher, most recently vice president of public relations for The Home Depot, has joined Kerr-McGee as senior vice president for corporate affairs. She will be responsible for public affairs, corporate communications, and investor relations.

OKLAHOMA CITY, February 1—Carol Schumacher, most recently vice president of public relations for The Home Depot, has joined Kerr-McGee Corporation as senior vice president for corporate affairs. In the newly-created position, she will be responsible for the energy and chemical company’s public affairs, corporate communications, investor relations and general administration activities.
 
Says Luke Corbett, Kerr-McGee chairman and chief executive officer, “With vast experience as a public relations strategist, Carol will lead our efforts to develop and implement a global, long-term corporate affairs strategy that addresses all internal and external relations.”
 
Schumacher was with The Home Depot from 1998 through 2001, serving as the chief public relations strategist for the company’s operations throughout North and South America. Previously, she was executive vice president and general manager of the Atlanta office of Edelman Public Relations Worldwide and she has also held senior positions with Cohn & Wolfe and Burson-Marsteller.
