WASHINGTON, D.C.—Fleishman-Hillard Government Relations has expanded its homeland security and government marketing practices with the addition of veteran Washington lobbyist Rob Housman.
Housman joins FH after launching two homeland security consultancies in Washington. At Fleishman-Hillard Government Relations he will work closely with his former mentor Gen. Barry McCaffrey, who co-chairs the firm’s homeland security practice.
According to , Larry LaRocco, president of FH Government Relations, “Rob is an experienced Washington consultant and the addition of his homeland security and government marketing expertise adds significant depth to the public affairs and government relations services we provide in our nation’s capital.”
Before joining FHGR, Housman served as president of the Housman Group, where he provided a broad range of clients with government relations, strategic planning, and communications counsel, focusing primarily on homeland security. He also served as counsel to the government relations and strategy section of Bracewell & Patterson, where he helped launch the law firm’s homeland security practice group and co-authored the Homeland Security Law Handbook.
Prior to his work on homeland security, Housman served briefly as a consultant to the National Security Council and the Council on Environmental Quality, and was the assistant director of strategic planning at the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy.
