LONDON—Honeywell has selected 3 Monkeys as lead European PR agency for the US tech company's Home Comfort and Energy Solutions business.
The brief spans the UK and the Netherlands where 3 Monkeys Communications is working with partner agency LVT PR.
The assignment focuses on Honeywell's consumer and technology outreach, spanning traditional PR and social media. Products like home thermostats are often considered a distress purchase; 3 Monkeys will aim to change that perception towards a more desired status.
In addition to thermostats, the Honeywell business unit in question includes heating controls providers, aiming to provide homes with a balance of comfort, control and energy conservation. The $38bn US company also has major interests in engineering services and aerospace systems.
“Honeywell is a hugely established global brand, so we needed an agency that could handle the magnitude of the company, yet be nimble and creative enough to energise our PR activity," said James Coulson, EMEA communications marketing director at Honeywell.
"3 Monkeys has a proven track record in changing perceptions of both brand and product, adding that special something to products that to some seem perhaps mundane or uninteresting."
