IMAX Names Sommerlath to Lead Communications

IMAX Corporation has hired Ann Sommerlath as vice president, corporate communications. Reporting directly to the company's chief executive officer, Richard Gelfond, Sommerlath will lead media initiatives and drive overall communications strategy.

NEW YORK—IMAX Corporation has hired Ann Sommerlath as vice president, corporate communications. Reporting directly to the company's chief executive officer, Richard Gelfond, Sommerlath will lead media initiatives and drive overall communications strategy.

 

Prior to joining IMAX, Sommerlath was a senior vice president at Edelman, where she served as senior media strategist and developed strategic communications programs for a range of clients. Previously, she served as senior vice president in the corporate and business-to-business communications group at Fleishman-Hillard in New York and was a managing director at RF|Binder, focused primarily on investor relations.

 

Additionally, she was the director of PR/communications at LSG Sky Chefs, the Frankfurt-based catering subsidiary of German airline, Lufthansa AG. Earlier, she was a financial journalist for 10 years at Dow Jones Newswires, BridgeNews and the Associated Press.
