TORONTO—National Public Relations has acquired the business of Equicom, one of Canada's leading investor relations and financial communications firms, from TMX Group. The transaction bolsters the firm's existing financial communications offering in Toronto, Calgary and Montreal and includes a multi-year referral agreement with TMX Group. Equicom has a client base of more than 120 public companies. National Equicom will be led by Ronald Alepian, most recently chief communications officer at CA Technologies.

NEW YORK—5W Public Relations has opened a Denver office to support its growing client base in the Southwestern US. The new office will work with clients in both the consumer and corporate space. The agency has also added an in-house production unit to complement its existing digital department, working with clients on web and graphic design, video production, photography, packaging and branding needs.
