Fischer-Appelt named president of PROI; The Communications Group rebrands; Bolt PR adds Dallas office.

NEW YORK—German entrepreneur and communications specialist Andreas Fischer-Appelt will become chairman of international network PROI Worldwide at its annual meeting in Hong Kong in May, 2014. Fischer-Appelt previously served as chairman of PROI Worldwide’s EMEA Region. He succeeds current global chairman Bob Frause who is stepping down after serving for three years. Fischer-Appelt is owner and managing director of PROI Worldwide partner agency fischerAppelt, one of the largest German independent integrated agency groups in Germany.

TORONTO—The Communications Group has rebranded itself as tcgpr – PR Consultants To News Makers and launched a new web site at www.tcgpr.com. Incorporated in 1973, tcgpr is one of the longest-established Canadian-owned PR agencies and the Toronto Partner of the IPREX global public relations network.

DALLAS—Bolt Public Relations, a bi-coastal public relations and social media management agency, has established its third US office, located in North Texas. Founded in 2007, Bolt has offices in Irvine, Cal., and Raleigh, NC. To help develop a presence and client base in North Texas, the firm has hired Shawn Paul Wood, who previously served in director-level positions at Dallas-based HCK2 Partners and global firm Burson-Marsteller.
