Crisis experts launch new firm; 38 North partners with PR firm; US and Indian firms forge alliance.

LOS ANGELES—A diverse team of communicators, legal experts and victim advocates have come together to create Cavalry Public Relations, which will work with clients in the legal, business, entertainment and startup sectors, and provide counsel to families of crime victims and others involved in high-profile crises. The firm includes Beth Karas of KarasOnCrime (formerly of CourtTV); legal analyst and crisis management expert Anne Bremner: mental health advocate Tanya Brown (the sister of Nicole Brown Simpson); and Mika Moulton, founder of Christopher’s Clubhouse and co-founder of the Surviving Parents Coalition. Based in Los Angeles, the company also has team members across the country including New York, Salt Lake City, Seattle and South Texas.

WASHINGTON, DC—Boutique policy and business strategy consulting firm 38 North Solutions has added public relations expertise through a collaboration with RenewPR. RenewPR president Ben Finzel will now also serve as strategic communications practice lead for 38 North Solutions and will provide communications advice, counsel and outreach to clean energy and innovation clients. Finzel was previously an executive at FleishmanHillard, Waggener Edstrom, and Widmeyer Communications.

TORONTO—Ireland + Hall Communications, which specializes in health and wellness and entertainment and lifestyle brands, has formed a strategic partnership with Buzz Communications, one of the fastest growing public relations agencies in Asia. The partnership will provide clients with traditional and digital outreach in the firms’ respective markets.
