NEW YORK—Finn Partners has acquired the health and education practice areas of gabbegroup. Jill and Jim Gabbe, gabbegroup’s founders, will join Finn Partners as senior advisors, serving existing clients and playing strategic roles in supporting the firm’s expansion goals. gabbegroup’s health and education team will relocate to Finn Partners’ New York office. gabbegroup was founded by Jim Gabbe in 1980, with Jill Gabbe joining in 1992. gabbegroup’s digital production arm, Raconteur, noted for its educational documentaries, video services and book publishing, will remain an independent company operating under the gabbegroup name.

SAN DIEGO—W2O Group is opening a San Diego office to serve a growing client base and strengthen its presence in a key markets for the growth of the health and technology businesses. The company has hired David Walsey as managing director of Brewlife, a W2O Group company, to run and grow the office, focusing on biotechnology, life sciences, medical device, healthcare delivery, digital health, and consumer and B2B technology. Walsey joins W2O Group from Optimer Pharmaceuticals where he served as vice president of corporate communications and investor relations.

NEW YORK and LONDON—RLM Finsbury is rebranding as Finsbury, underscoring the company’s transformation over the past three years—since the merger of UK-based Finsbury and US sister agency Robinson Lerer & Montgomery—into a global company providing strategic communications counseling in the United Kingdom, the United States, Russia, Singapore, China, Belgium and the United Arab Emirates, after opening new offices in Moscow, Beijing, and San Francisco. It handles cross-border assignments for companies including Verizon, Toyota, AstraZeneca, Walgreens, Boots and Starbucks.

NEW YORK—Bev Yehuda has joined digital, social, video communications firm D S Simon as senior VP, operations and digital media. She will lead the firm's digital business, expand client offerings and provide senior level counsel. Prior to joining D S Simon, Yehuda was VP, web engagement, at PR Newswire and VP, new products, at MultiVu, a PR Newswire company.
