MADRID—Leading Spanish public relations firm Inforpress has launched a new division, e-Communication, to help clients manage their reputation on the Internet, and in particular in the blogosphere and other social networks. The firm will assist clients with internal communication, product communication through corporate blogs and social networks, brand image monitoring using Web 2.0 tools, opinion studies, and online branding.

According to the company, “An increasing number of consumers research what is said about a company and its products on the Internet before making a decision on whether to buy and also to reinforce their choice of service amongst various options. As such, Web 2.0 communication through blogs, wikis and social networks is highly effective when generating user critical mass, preventing possible crises, increasing brand profile and improving a company’s business prospects.”

Several clients in the tourism sector such as SkyEurope, TerminalA.com and TVtrip.com have entrusted their online communication strategies to Inforpress, as have organisations such as the Madrid Promotion Office (EsMadrid) and DKV Insurance.
