Ingersoll Rand Taps Avedon to Lead Communications and HR

Ingersoll-Rand Company has named Marcia Avedon senior vice president, human resources and communications. She also has been elected an officer of the company and will serve as a member of Ingersoll Rand’s enterprise leadership team.

MONTVALE, NJ—Ingersoll-Rand Company has named Marcia Avedon senior vice president, human resources and communications. She also has been elected an officer of the company and will serve as a member of Ingersoll Rand’s enterprise leadership team, with responsibility for the enterprise human resources function and for corporate communications. Avedon will report directly to Herbert L. Henkel, chairman, president and chief executive officer.

Avedon began her career with Booz-Allen & Hamilton and after six years as a management consultant, she joined Anheuser-Busch Companies and held a variety of human resources and organization development positions, both in corporate and division roles. She joined Honeywell International (formerly AlliedSignal) and progressed to vice president, human resources and communications. She left Honeywell in 2002 to join Merck & Co., whereshe most recently was senior vice president, human resources.
