BRUSSELS—International public affairs consultancy Interel has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Global Public Affairs, one of Canada’s leading government relations firms.
The partnership agreement was concluded simultaneously with the latest round of negotiations on a new EU-Canada economic and trade agreement. Economic relations between Canada and the EU are already characterized by strong trade ($120 billion in 2009) and investment flows. The deal is expected to yield real income gains equal approximately $11.6 billion and $16.4 billion for Canada and the EU, respectively.
In October 2010, Global and Interel produced a joint assessment of the negotiations which identified great potential for integration and collaboration in the Canada-EU bilateral relationship.
The two firms will be providing an integrated service in the sectors that are subject to substantial regulation in both blocs, including raw materials, energy, manufacturing, transport, agri-food, health, consumer goods, financial services and IT.
Global Public Affairs is headquartered in Ottawa with offices in Toronto and Calgary, and serves corporate leaders within Canada as well as internationally based companies, providing expertise in strategic research and counsel, government advocacy and issues management.
