BRUSSELS—Interel has hired Baudouin Velge as the new managing director of Interel Belgium, replacing Emmanuel Goedseels, who will take on a group practice leadership role as the firm’s new executive vice chairman, corporate communications. Velge is currently the chief executive of FEDIS, the Belgian trade association representing the retail industry, prior to which he was chief economist at the Belgian Employers Association, FEB.

The Belgian operations represent a third of the company’s overall business, although Interel is best known international for its EU public affairs and corporate communications work. But executive chairman Jean-Leopold Schuybroek  says the Belgian operations have a central place in the firm’s future expansion, serving as the European hub in the development of new client services.
