Ketchum Greater China has named Marian I-Ming Ma general manager of Ketchum Taiwan. Ma has 16 years of experience in the communications industry and was a co-founder of Dynamics Public Relations.

HONG KONG—Ketchum Greater China has named Marian I-Ming Ma general manager of Ketchum Taiwan. Ma has 16 years of experience in the communications industry and was a co-founder of Dynamics Public Relations where she specialized in strategic counseling, event management and sports sponsorship, especially corporate golf tournaments.  As general manager, Ma will be responsible for client services management, new business development and overall agency management at Ketchum Taiwan based in Taipei and will report to partner and CEO of Ketchum Greater China Kenneth Chu. She takes over from Jerry Peng who remains with the company as an advisor with specific responsibility for new business development.

SINGAPORE—The Singapore office of GolinHarris has been appointed as official public relations partner for the Global Business Summit for the Environment, a major international conference focusing on business and the environment in Asia, organised by the United Nations Environmental Programme and the UN Global Compact In addition to its media relations functions for the Summit, GolinHarris will also manage and coordinate the press conference for the Champions of the Earth award, which recognizes seven outstanding leaders from major continents for their vision, leadership and creativity in advancing environmental goals at the policy level.

LONDON—GCI Group has been providing public relations advice to Investment Dar and Adeem Investments during their purchase of Aston Martin, ending the car company’s almost 20 years as part of Ford Motor Company.  GCI also handled the global media launch of IMEX, a new energy trading platform that expects to go live and obtain the Qatar Financial Center Regulatory Authority approval by the end of this year.

LONDON—European technology PR agency network AxiCom has been selected to launch Medio Systems, a provider of mobile search and advertising solutions, into Europe. AxiCom will manage the company’s communications efforts with an initial focus on communicating Medio Systems’ leadership in mobile search. The firm will also deliver press and industry analyst briefings to support Medio’s expansion into Europe and to place search and advertising in the context of the expansion in demand for mobile content and data including web access and email.
