DW Turner, a U.S.-based strategic communications, public relations and public affairs consultancy, has opened three new Asia offices in Singapore, Malaysia, and India.

SINGAPORE—DW Turner, a U.S.-based strategic communications, public relations and public affairs consultancy, has opened three new Asia offices in Singapore, Malaysia, and India. The offices in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and in Chennai will initially provide strategic communications, advisory and public affairs counsel to foreign firms doing business in those markets and local firms doing business in or planning market entry into the United States. “Helping companies build relationships and localized communications strategies in markets to which they are unaccustomed will be our first order of business,” says Ganesh Naraynan who heads DW Turner’s new Asia venture.

JOHANNESBURG—Amanda Singleton has been named managing director of Manning Selvage and Lee in South Africa. Her previous experience includes roles as managing director of Mmopa Strategy Innovation, head of corporate communications for Telkom, media liaison officer at the Department of Posts & Telecommunications, media officer at the Commission of Administration, and personnel officer at the Department of National Education.

LONDON— Streakr, an online web discovery tool combined with a social network has selected Cohn & Wolfe’s digital and technology team following a competitive four-way pitch. Cohn & Wolfe will provide PR support for the site during the final stages of beta testing to its launch, scheduled for this summer, through an online campaign targeting early adopters including the blog community and webmasters. Post-launch, Cohn & Wolfe will help to establish an online presence among the site’s core target audience of 18-35 year old heavy internet users and drive traffic to the site. The team will be led by Gladys Elia, managing director, digital and technology.

LONDON--Employment Opportunities, a national charity dedicated to helping people with disabilities and medical conditions find and retain employment, has appointed Bell Pottinger Business & Brand to provide public relations consultancy and support. Bell Pottinger is the charity’s first PR agency and will support the charity’s re-launch, which was kicked off by the first ever Employment Opportunities awards recently.
