DENVER—Gwinavere “G.G.” Johnston has been named president and CEO of JohnstonWells Public Relations, replacing her mother and the firm’s founder, also Gwinavere “Gwin” Johnston.

GG Johnston, who joined JohnstonWells 15 years ago, most recently served as president and chief operation officer for the firm. She says she does not plan any major changes at the 37-year-old firm, which has specialties in online communication, social media and traditional public relations programs. According to Johnston. “Public relations is entering a new frontier with consumer-generated media driving conversations like never before. I couldn’t have picked a better time to take on this significant opportunity.”

Gwin Johnston will continue to be active in the company as owner and chairman of the board.
