NEW YORK—Jonathan Kopp is joining the Glover Park Group as the firm’s first chief interactive strategist and managing director. He brings a background that includes work with major corporate and non-profit clients, Presidential campaigns, and the White House and a focus on blending traditional and digital communications.

Kopp will join GPG’s leadership team and be based in GPG’s New York office, but will work a wide range of account teams and clients everywhere GPG does business.

Since 2009, Kopp has served as a partner at Ketchum and the global director of Ketchum Digital, where he served as the firm’s worldwide leader on all aspects of engagement across the social web, from digital, social media and mobile strategy, program development and execution, as well as interactive design, graphics and video.

Before joining Ketchum, Kopp was a partner at SS+K, where he worked from 1997 to 2009 developing and executing multi-tactical campaigns involving PR, public affairs, marketing and advertising across all traditional and digital media. During the 2008 campaign, Kopp was a member of the Obama for America national media team, focusing on the youth vote in the battleground states.

Prior to his work in communications, he practiced law in the Washington, DC, office of Willkie Farr & Gallagher.
