NEW YORK, October 5—Veteran media trainer Vickee Jordan Adams, who left Ketchum two years ago to become director of corporate communications at Dow Jones & Company, is returning to the agency business to head a new media communications practice at Hill & Knowlton USA.

Jordan Adams will be senior managing director of the media communications practice and will report directly to H&K USA president and CEO, Tom Hoog. She will be responsible for broadening and expanding the firm’s current media and presentation skills training efforts.

According to Hoog, “her charter is to convert a specialist discipline into a fully integrated practice.” The practice area will include innovative new products including media training, presentation skills, executive coaching, and leadership training products.

Says H&K chairman and CEO Howard Paster, “I have known Vickee professionally for several years and I am pleased that she has joined us.  As a nationally recognized authority on media communications, her knowledge and experience will be enormously beneficial to our clients.  Primarily a national practice at its inaugural, we expect to ultimately expand it more formally beyond the U.S. to H&K offices and clients worldwide.”

Adams joins from Dow Jones, where she was director of corporate communications. As a spokesperson for the company, she had media relations responsibility for The Wall Street Journal, The Wall Street Journal Online, Dow Jones Newswires, and other operations. Prior to joining Dow Jones in 1999, Adams was senior vice president at Ketchum Public Relations where she oversaw a team of international communications training specialists.   From 1983 to 1992, she was vice president and manager of communications training for PR firm, Burson-Marsteller.
