NEW YORK—Continuing a hot new business streak, Magnet Communications has been selected by JVC Americas Corporation to handle public relations and related activities for product categories including color TV, D-VHS video, consumer audio, recording media, mobile, and special markets.

“After a careful review of several public relations agencies, JVC chose Magnet because of its deep knowledge of the consumer electronics space, as well as its impressive track record of generating media results for clients,” said Donald Trapp, corporate communications manager at JVC.

Magnet currently represents other leading consumer technology brands including IBM, Nikon, Acoustic Research, NHT, Sprint PCS and Seiko Instruments USA.

The JVC account will be managed out of Magnet’s headquarters in New York, and the firm will be responsible for media relations, shepherding new product introductions, managing a product loan program, trade show publicity, and related assignments.

The announcement comes just a week after Magnet added retailer Crate & Barrell and restaurant management company Cornerstone Management and a month after it picked up several Allied Domecq brands.
