Kaplow Strengthens Technology Practice

Kaplow has added three senior technology public relations practitioners and promoted Leah Schmerl to senior vice president of the technology group, overseeing the firm’s Skype business.

NEW YORK—Kaplow has added three senior technology public relations practitioners and promoted Leah Schmerl to senior vice president of the technology group, overseeing the firm’s Skype business. Schmerl, who joined the Kaplow team in 2002, has managed consumer technology clients including Skype, eBay and Lawyers.com.

In addition, Chaim Haas and Lainie DeCoursey have joined the firm as vice president. Haas spent the past three years at Euro RSCG Magnet, where he planned and managed public relations campaigns for consumer, business-to-business and technology clients. DeCoursy was most recently communications director at AOL, and earlier managed the AOL and United Airlines accounts at Robinson Lerer & Montgomery. In addition, Alysha Crouse joined Kaplow as a senior account supervisor from 5W Public Relations.
