NEW YORK—Kaplow has been selected to provide global public relations for the 2007 Blue Planet Run, a round-the-world event focused on raising awareness and funding for safe drinking water projects. Kaplow was awarded the business in competition with several major global PR firms and will be lead agency for the event across North America, Europe and Asia.
“Kaplow demonstrated a deep understanding of our mission and showed a passion for our cause,” said Matt Kursh, CEO of the Blue Planet Run Foundation. “Its ideas were creative and its plans strong. But it was really the agency’s energy and imagination that won it the business.”
Kaplow will be helping to humanize the plight of those without safe drinking water and forcing the Blue Planet Run mission onto the global agenda. More than one billion people (one in six) worldwide lack access to safe drinking water, and providing access to safe drinking water can eliminate the single greatest cause of sickness and health-related death facing the world today. The 2007 Blue Planet Run is designed to increase awareness and funding for sustainable, locally-owned water projects for those in need around the world.
GolinHarris will be providing public relations support for the event’s principal sponsor, Dow Chemical.
