WASHINGTON, D.C.— The Washington Group, the government relations subsidiary of Ketchum, has hired Anthony Marken as a vice president. Marken is an expert in the policies, strategic planning, community relations and acquisition issues surrounding public-private partnerships and government contracting, particularly as they relate to military installations, energy solutions and real estate development.

Marken’s specific expertise extends to base redevelopment and reuse, Pentagon privatization programs, large mixed-use real estate initiatives and strategic state energy policies and renewables. The Washington Group’s defense team recently met success in helping to remove Connecticut’s New London Submarine Base from the BRAC closure list.

Prior to joining The Washington Group, Marken served as vice president of the military installations section of ML Strategies, a government relations firm that is part of Mintz Levin Cohn Glovsky & Popeo.
