WASHINGTON, D.C.—Ketchum’s lobbying subsidiary The Washington Group has hired Debra Barrett as senior vice president. Barrett joins from the Generic Pharmaceutical Association where she was vice president for public policy and senior director for government affairs.
“Debra’s range of experience makes her an ideal fit for what is already a very powerful health care offering,” said Susan Molinari, Chairman and CEO of The Washington Group. “It is a real coup to bring aboard someone with both the deep and diverse perspectives that Debra possesses.”
Previously, Barrett spent six years on Capitol Hill, working for Senator Christopher Dodd (D-CT) in his role as chairman of the subcommittee on children and families of the senate committee on health, education, labor and pensions; for Senator Charles Schumer (D-NY) as legislative aide for health care and education policy; and for Senator Patrick Leahy (D-VT) as a specialist on mental health and women’s health issues.
