Ketchum Taps Weber to Lead Chicago Food Practice

Ketchum has named Rick Weber, a 28-year veteran of agency and corporate public relations, as senior vice president and leader of its brand and food marketing practice. Weber succeeds Bob Kopach, who left the agency last month.

CHICAGO—Ketchum has named Rick Weber, a 28-year veteran of agency and corporate public relations, as senior vice president and leader of its brand and food marketing practice. Weber succeeds Bob Kopach, who left the agency last month.

His expertise includes brand positioning, product launches and local store marketing. He has served as vice president of Shandwick Public Relations, where he managed consumer-based business development and led global public relations efforts for GE Appliances, and director of public relations for KFC restaurants, where he managed several product launches, directed food-and-facilities crises and managed the chain’s 50th anniversary celebration and its not-for-profit charity, Colonel’s Kids.

In addition, Weber has served as vice president of marketing and sales for Morton’s Steakhouse, director and manager of advertising for Red Lobster and national marketing manager for The Olive Garden Italian Restaurants. He also owned his own advertising agency in Orlando, Fla., for seven years.
