NEW YORK—Ketchum, Taylor, Glover Park Group and Davies were among the big winners at the 2008 SABRE Awards dinner, held at Cipriani on New York’s 42nd Street last week. The dinner was attended by more than 820 industry leaders.

Ketchum took home the Platinum SABRE Award for the Best Public Relations Program of 2007 for its work on behalf of Doritos. The firm’s campaign, promoting a competition to find user-generated content to replace the company’s traditional SuperBowl advertising, beat out programs from CKPR (an AirTran Aiways campaign using new media); GolinHarris (an employee communications program for Dow Chemical); and Parker & Partners (the Australian operation of Ogilvy Public Relations); as well as another Ketchum campaign, for Delta Air Lines.

Taylor, meanwhile, was named U.S. Consultancy of the Year, narrowly beating out Large Agency of the Year Fleishman-Hillard, while Glover Park Group was named Specialist Agency of the Year, ahead of fellow finalists DeVries, Marina Maher Communications, Kekst & Company, Cone, WeissComm, Airfoil and Shift. Davies was named Best U.S. Consultancy to Work For.

The night also saw individual SABRE Awards presented for the first time to Steve Harris of General Motors, James E. Murphy of Accenture, Charlotte Otto of Procter & Gamble, Harris Diamond of Weber Shandwick, and John Graham of Fleishman-Hillard.
