ATLANTA, April 18—Ketchum has been selected as public relations agency for the Declaration of Independence Road Trip, a non-profit, nonpartisan project created by television producer Norman Lear and sponsored by The Home Depot.

Ketchum’s Atlanta office will provide media relations, public affairs and workplace communications support for the three-year traveling exhibition that will take the Declaration of Independence to towns and cities across the United States. The goal of the project is to bring the “People’s Document” directly to all Americans—especially young people—to inspire them to participate in civic activism, to exercise their rights, and above all, to vote.

“Ketchum has a clear understanding of the mission supporting the Declaration of Independence Road Trip,” said John Cooke, president of the Declaration of Independence Road Trip. “We look forward to working with Ketchum to heighten the awareness, among young and old, of the values, history and meaning of this critical document.”

The Declaration of Independence Road Trip and The Home Depot conducted their search with support from Malibu -based public relations management consultant Jerry Swerling.
