ttAMSTERDAM—Tommy Hilfiger Europe has selected Ketchum to lead European public relations strategy for licensed product categories. The program will be delivered across the key European markets for Tommy Hilfiger bags, eyewear, watches and footwear businesses, in a rolling start from December, 2005.

Ketchum’s appointment follows a multi-agency pitch process at the company’s European headquarters in Amsterdam. The account will be managed by Ketchum London with Ketchum wholly-owned offices and affiliates across six initial markets: Austria, Belgium, France, Spain, UK and Switzerland.

Tommy Hilfiger will retain its current fashion press agencies for support of all apparel collections. In addition, Boz Communications of Italy and Network PR of Germany will continue to handle licensed product activity as well as fashion apparel activity.

“The significant growth of the Tommy Hilfiger brand in Europe means that Ketchum will play an important role in gaining and maintaining visibility and relevance for these key categories,” says Avery Baker, senior vice president of marketing and communications. “Ketchum’s wide European network, expertise and willingness to collaborate with our existing apparel agency portfolio proved decisive in our final selection. We look forward to a great partnership.”
