BEIJING--Kreab Gavin Anderson has named China PR veteran Jin Lu as managing partner of its Beijing office.

Lu joins from Fortune China PR, where he spent the last two years as VP. Previously, he served in senior in-house roles for McKinsey and Pepsico in China.

Lu's arrival follows the appointment of Walter Jennings as managing partner for Hong Kong and China last year, after the sudden departure of Richard Barton, who has since joined Newgate.

“Jin Lu brings direct experience from major Chinese and Western companies," said Jennings. "He understands the perspectives of Chinese enterprises that wish to expand internationally, and of multinationals that seek to strengthen their positions within China. He can assist clients in addressing the unique communications challenges they face in Beijing and beyond.”

Before joining Pepsico in 2005, Lu also worked at Ketchum Newscan, after starting his career as a journalist at Xinhua News Agency.
