NEW YORK—Daisy King, the longstanding market leader of Burson-Marsteller’s Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Chengdu offices, has transferred to New York. King will lead a new China-focused speciality group as a managing director in the firm’s U.S. corporate practice, reporting to practice chair Jason Schechter.
King joined Burson-Marsteller as an associate in 2000 rising to become market leader in seven years. In her new role, she will lead a group focused on counselling both US clients with communications needs in China, as well as Chinese firms operating within the US market.
“The demands on US and Chinese companies to understand each other’s markets, cultures, and regulatory and business environments is growing exponentially each day,” says Schechter.
Managing director Brian Cronkhite of B-M Shanghai has taken on the acting market leader role in that office. Christina Wu was recently appointed market leader for Guangzhou and Chengdu. Both Cronkhite and Wu report to B-M China CEO Chris Deri.
