NEW YORK, December 9—Dan Klores, whose New York-based public relations agency Dan Klores Communications represents major corporate clients including General Motors, United Airlines, and most recently Cantor Fitzgerald, is forming a new political consulting firm in partnership with Josh Isay, formerly campaign manager to Democratic Senator Charles Schumer.

The firm, Isay Klores & Prince, will work on Andrew Cuomo’s campaign for the Democratic nomination for Governor of New York. Klores had been handling the campaign through DKC, but now Isay will take over as campaign manager.

Isay was Schumer’s campaign manager in 1998, and also served as his chief of staff in both the House and the Senate. He also worked on Mark Green’s successful 1993 run for New York City public advocate, and Alan Hevesi’s unsuccessful mayoral candidacy this year. He and Klores are joined in the new firm by Jonathan Prince, a former aide to President Bill Clinton.

Cuomo, who was President Clinton’s housing and urban development secretary, is running against state comptroller Carl McCall for the Democratic nomination against Governor George Pataki, who is expected to seek a third term.
