CHICAGO, April 17—Barry Legetter, a veteran of Countrywide Porter Novelli and Fleishman-Hillard in the U.K., has joined Golin/Harris as deputy managing director of its London office. He will work alongside Sue Farr, who joined the firm as managing director in London and regional director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, early last year.

According to Farr, “Barry has already added a new dimension to our work since he joined us. He is a big picture strategic and creative thinker, which has already resulted in a marked change in the way we work with clients and in tangible success in new business.”

Legetter joined Golin/Harris after working in the New York office of Porter Novelli as executive vice president and global key account leader. He spent 12 years as a member of the senior team that built Countrywide Porter Novelli from a regional brand into a top five U.K. company, serving as joint managing director of its London office. He left Countrywide Porter Novelli in 1994 to become the managing director of Fleishman-Hillard, U.K., and rejoined the firm in 1997.

Leggetter will lead the corporate communications group, but he will also help manage several agency wide initiatives with an emphasis on client service as deputy managing director.
