WASHINGTON, DC—Levick has acquired of Purple Nation Solutions, founded by veteran crisis manager Lanny Davis and former chairman of the Republican National Committee Michael Steele.

The acquisition comes on the heels of Levick’s expansion of its advocacy and public affairs practice, which includes Capitol Hill veterans Rick Kessler and Mike Scrivner and its business intelligence unit, led by former National Security and Department of Defense professional Eric Lebson.

Davis will serve full-time as executive vice president for Levick and will work across all of the firm’s practice areas, including crisis and litigation communications, as well as its newly reshaped advocacy and public affairs practice. He will continue providing legal advice to clients through his existing law firm, Lanny J. Davis & Associates.

Steele will serve as a senior strategist on state and local government issues and will continue his role as an MSNBC analyst and regular guest on a number of their programs.

A total of four Purple Nation Solution professionals will join Levick, including Eleanor McManus, who co-founded the firm and will be a senior vice president. Previously she served 11 years as senior producer of CNN’s “Larry King Live.”
