LONDON—Lewis has appointed former Royal Bank of Scotland public affairs consultant Ben Wilson to head its London-based public affairs division. Wilson will be responsible for developing public affairs programs for a wide range of the firm’s existing clients in the technology sector and will advise clients on how to effectively address communications challenges and opportunities stemming from developments in the EU, Westminster and the devolved institutions.

Most recently, Wilson was responsible for running lobbying campaigns in Westminster and Brussels for Royal Bank of Scotland.

“We are increasingly seeing the demand for integrated PR campaigns that combine Web 2.0, analyst relations and public affairs strands—bread and butter PR is already a thing of the past,” says Ilona Hitel, VP at Lewis. “Bringing a public affairs specialist in-house has been prompted by significant market demand for communications strategies that can hit all corners of the target audience effectively, which increasingly includes political influencers.”
