REDWOOD SHORES—FitzGerald Communications has been chosen to represent LexisNexis File & Serve, a leading provider of flexible e-filing solutions for the judicial community. FitzGerald beat out Bite Communications and Ketchum for the account, which was previously represented by Washington, D.C.’s CRC Communications.

FitzGerald will help LexisNexis File & Serve accelerate its penetration of the burgeoning e-filing market. In addition to helping develop the overall communications strategy, FitzGerald will implement highly targeted programs in key geographies across the United States.

Electronic filing (or e-filing) of documents in court cases promises tremendously increased efficiency, cost and time savings, and ultimately, improved quality of justice received by litigants.

“Today’s courts are overburdened with paper filings. Electronic filing relieves that burden while increasing the efficiency of operations and access to information,” said Michele Vivona, COO, LexisNexis, in charge of e-filing. “Because of the number of courts within each state, we want to use public relations strategically to highlight the benefits of e-filing to all parties, including courts, judges, law firms and ultimately, ordinary citizens.”

“Relative to the other agencies we considered, the FitzGerald team was enthusiastic, flexible, and above all, creative in its approach,” said Mary Dale Walters, vice president of marketing and global communications. “We knew we didn’t need or want a standard PR program, and FitzGerald clearly took the time to understand our challenges and develop recommendations that will enable us to drive change in the marketplace.”
