NEW YORK—FedEx Corporation has strengthened its international public relations team with the appointment of Martin Liptrot as managing director of global communications.
Liptrot reports to Eric Jackson, vice president of corporate communications, and will focus on driving multi-market efforts in media relations, internal communications, issues and crises management, executive communications and corporate social responsibility to differentiate the company’s offerings in key markets globally.
Liptrot had been manager of corporate social responsibility policy and outreach at Altria Corporate Services, formerly Philip Morris Management Corp., since 2001, and previously held a variety of posts at the company in the United Kingdom and Switzerland from 1997, leading pan-European and global initiatives in media relations, public relations, corporate social responsibility, and issues management.
He began his career in 1991 as press officer at the National Museums & Galleries in Liverpool, and in 1993 became a communications officer with the U.K. Labour Party.
