WASHINGTON, D.C.—Levick Strategic Communications, a specialist in high-profile litigation and crisis management public relations, has hired Barbara Semedo as vice president and Michael Robinson as director. The duo will manage communications for corporations and financial institutions, while working closely with Levick’s core law firm clients.
Semedo spearheaded communications efforts for several major political initiatives during her years in the Clinton administration, including the President’s Initiative on Race. She also served as press secretary to the U.S. Department of Energy, and as Director of public and constituent affairs with the U.S. Department of Commerce in the office of National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
Michael Robinson, who most recently served as director of investment business communications at Freddie Mac, has more than 20 years of experience managing communications in high-impact financial and litigation matters. He was the director of public affairs, policy evaluation,and research at the Securities and Exchange Commission and coordinated SEC’s communications efforts to reopen the markets after 9/11. He also served as a communications leader at The NASDAQ Stock Market and the NASD.
Levick has also hired two experienced professionals to support the firm’s rapid growth: Stacey Wright joins as Levick’s business development manager, having previously spent four years on Capitol Hill with Tennessee Congressman Bart Gordon. Yolanda Reid brings 20-years of IT and IS experience to the organization.
