UK tech company Logica has selected Bite as its lead European PR agency, following a final-round shootout against Lewis PR.

Bite, which already handles Logica's UK account, takes charge of a $750,000 brief aimed at positioning Logica's technology as a "fundamental building block of society across Europe."

The pitch was first revealed by the Holmes Report last month.

Bite will hub the business from its London office under its international practice head Eileen Boydell. Key markets include UK, France, Benelux, Sweden and Finland.

Bite will report to Logica global head of PR Louise Fisk.

“We are very excited to build upon our relationship with Bite as we embark on a new approach towards communications across Europe," said Fisk. "Bite has a proven heritage of managing central campaigns which retain a flexible approach per country, depending on local priorities and circumstances; we’re confident that together we will deliver great results in all of our markets.”

The development follows the IT and business services company’s decision to rebrand earlier this year, using the new tagline ‘Be Brilliant Together.’ One source involved in the review said that Logica is aiming to better compete with key rivals such as Accenture and CapGemini.
