Macrie to Lead Communications at Washington Mutual

Financial services giant Washington Mutual has hired Sari Macrie as senior vice president of corporate communications, reporting to to J. Benson Porter, chief administrative officer and executive vice president.

SEATTLE—Financial services giant Washington Mutual has hired Sari Macrie as senior vice president of corporate communications, reporting to to J. Benson Porter, chief administrative officer and executive vice president. She will be responsible for the internal and external communications for Washington Mutual.

Prior to joining Washington Mutual, Macrie was senior vice president of corporate communications for Cardinal Health, a global healthcare services company. She was responsible for the strategic direction of the company’s financial communications, internal communications, executive communications, media and public relations activities, and global branding and advertising. In addition, Macrie was a member of the company’s operating committee.

Macrie previously was the president and owner of a strategic communications consultancy, Macrie & Associates, where she provided counsel to clients such as SBC Communications, Tellabs, Monsanto, eLoyalty and Pharmacia and spent five years at Ameritech as vice president of investor relations.
