SÃO PAULO—Sheila Magri has joined the strategic communications practice of FTI Consulting as a managing director in the firm’s São Paulo office. Magri will lead the firm’s practice in Brazil, working closely with strategic communications professionals across the Latin American region and the global network.

She joins FTI Consulting from Hill+Knowlton Strategies Brazil, where she has served as president and general manager since 2008. In this role, she led the integration between the Brazilian office and the Hill+Knowlton network worldwide and was responsible for new business development, overall management, and supervision of the office’s local and international clients.

Magri first joined Hill+Knowlton in 1997. Earlier, she was with Pv Assessoria de Comunicação, where she oversaw media relations and developed media strategy for leading global brands.

Over the past several years, FTI Consulting has made a number of strategic acquisitions and appointments in the region. Earlier this year, the firm announced that Henrique de Campos Meirelles, former president of Banco Central Do Brasil, joined its board of directors.

According to Frank Holder, chairman, Latin American region at FTI Consulting, “Brazil continues to stand out as one of the world’s most important growth economies, and, combined with the heightened business activity across Latin America, there are a number of market opportunities for FTI Consulting across our business practices.”
