NEW YORK—Marina Maher Communications has hired Megan Svensen as executive vice president, healthcare practice director. Svensen brings 20 years of experience in both healthcare and consumer public relations, with particular expertise in new business development and innovative pharmaceutical third-party partnerships.

Prior to joining MMC, Svensen worked for Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide, where she served most recently as executive vice president and group director in the New York health and medical group.  At Ogilvy, Svensen specialized in women’s health, cardiovascular and oncology, promoting blockbuster brands including Zocor, Fosamax, Prevacid and Levitra. 

Svensen reports to Marina Maher, president and agency founder, supervising accounts including Pfizer’s Detrol LA and Relpax, and GlaxoSmithKline’s Flonase, as well as leading new business development for the healthcare practice.
