LONDON — TLG founder Malcolm Gooderham has joined UK financial PR consultancy Montfort to launch a new practice focused on corporate and political relations.

The move comes after Gooderham left FTI Consulting at the start of 2015. TLG had merged with FTI 12 months earlier, with Gooderham serving as head of the global firm's EMEA thought leadership practice.

Montfort was founded in 2014 by former M Communications heads Nick Miles and Hugh Morrison. They were joined in 2015 by Gay Collins, who previously founded and led Penrose Financial.

Gooderham launched TLG in 2007 after working for Weber Shandwick, Bell Pottinger and the Conservative Party. At Montfort, he will focus on three areas: policy and regulatory campaigns;  special counsel; and reputation management.

"Malcolm's arrival gives the firm a valuable additional dimension to meet client demand across corporate and public affairs issues," said Miles. "As a political adviser and consultant he has advised very senior figures on strategy, policy and media matters. He is a highly respected consultant."

"My vision is to grow Montfort into the 'go to' consultancy for insight and advice about expanding, leveraging and protecting personal and corporate levels of political capital — complementing the strategic and financial communications expertise available at the firm," added Gooderham.
