COLUMBIA, MD—Maroon PR has added the Jane Goodall Institute to its roster of clients. Maroon will work with the Institute, an international nonprofit based in Arlington, Va., to increase awareness of the organization’s programs, including its global environmental and humanitarian youth network, Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots. Maroon will also provide media relations services on the regional and national levels in support of “Gombe 50,” the Institute’s celebration commemorating the 50th anniversary of Jane Goodall’s chimpanzee field study.

“Maroon PR’s track record with nonprofits, coupled with the fact that it is a smaller agency, made the firm a natural fit for JGI,” says Maureen Smith, president of the Jane Goodall Institute. “While JGI has a global reach, we were looking for an agency where we could interact directly with senior management on a daily basis.”

Founded in 1977, JGI continues Goodall’s research on chimpanzee behavior, which transformed scientific perceptions of the relationship between humans and animals.
