WASHINGTON, D.C.—Richard P. Martin has joined the Grocery Manufacturers of America as vice president of communications. Martin will manage communications, marketing and advocacy efforts in support of GMA’s industry and public policy initiatives.
Prior to joining GMA, Martin was managing director of the brand and marketing strategy practice at Scient, a global business and technology consultancy. He previously co-founded Kids Online America, an online community for parents and children, where he served as the company’s chief marketing officer.
He also managed media relations at United Airlines, was an account supervisor at Edelman Public Relations in Chicago and a senior account executive at Burson Marsteller in Washington.
