NEW YORK—Cheryl McCants has been appointed to senior vice president of marketing and communications for the National Urban League. She will be responsible for creating and implementing the League's marketing, communications and interactive strategy as well as solidifying its brand identity nationwide.
McCants joins the League after serving as vice president of marketing and brand management for Girl Scouts of the USA where she was responsible for developing and executing national marketing and communications strategies to support local councils and headquarters staff with an emphasis on the Hispanic, African American and Asian American markets.
Prior to that, McCants was Founder and President of Impact Consulting Enterprises, where she worked with the Ms. Foundation for Women to develop a comprehensive communications plan for Take Our Daughters And Sons To Work, a national educational initiative. Her other experience includes global corporate responsibility manager and director of communications for the Jordan Brand for Nike.
