LOS ANGELES—Northrop Grumman Corporation has named Daniel McClain corporate director of media relations at its Los Angeles headquarters. McClain reports to Rosanne O’Brien, corporate vice president of communications. He takes over the role from Frank Moore, who was named director of communications at the company’s information technology sector in McLean, Va.

In his new role, McClain serves as one of the company’s primary spokespersons and is responsible for maintaining and enhancing Northrop Grumman’s reputation among national and trade media, and for developing and implementing broad-based media strategies for the company and its executives. He also oversees the company’s news bureau, which reviews and issues all company press releases and provides a news service to company executives.

For the past 10 years McClain has been director of communications for Northrop Grumman’s space technology sector in Redondo Beach, Calif., where he directed the sector’s media relations, employee and executive communications, marketing and community-relations activities. Before joining TRW Space & Electronics in 1989, he held management and executive positions with the city of Torrance, Calif., and the city’s chamber of commerce.
