NEW YORK—Susan Mekrami has joined Manning Selvage & Lee’s New York corporate practice as senior vice president of internal communications. Mekrami will work closely with the team of internal communications specialists at DeeleyTrimble/MS&L in Atlanta, which will operate under the MS&L Internal Communications banner.

“Expanding our corporate practice has been a major priority for us over the past couple of years,” says MS&L chairman and chief executive Lou Capozzi. “And employee communications—along with crisis communications and financial communications—is one of the cornerstones of a meaningful corporate practice. As we move from helping our clients with communications issues to advising them on the kind of behavior that builds sustainable corporate reputation, the ability to communicate to their employees will be a critical success factor.”

Mekrami, most recently a senior counselor at GCI BoxenbaumGrates, has more than 15 years of experience helping organizations drive a higher level of performance through internal communications. Her areas of expertise are the strategic development and implementation of employee communications programs, specifically in change situations.  She has counseled Fortune 500 companies in the automotive, beverage, power & control and manufacturing industries.

According to Mekrami, “Today’s organizations operate in a very complex business environment and our team is focused on helping clients strengthen relationships with their employees to improve organizational effectiveness.”

Prior to joining GCI BoxenbaumGrates, Mekrami was staff executive of operations at a national association of business-to-business publications, where she managed the creative development and production of all collateral and marketing material. She also worked as a freelance graphic designer for several consumer electronic companies and non-profit associations.
