Merisant Taps Edelman for Equal Brand

The Merisant Company has selected Edelman to managed public relations for its key brand, Equal Sweetener. With over $350 million in sales, Merisant is a leader in the worldwide $1.2 billion high-intensity tabletop sweetener market.

CHICAGO—The Merisant Company has selected Edelman to managed public relations for its key brand, Equal Sweetener. With over $350 million in worldwide sales, Merisant is a leader in the worldwide $1.2 billion high-intensity tabletop sweetener market. The company and its affiliates market over 20 brands in more than 80 countries around the world.

“Edelman’s reputation in the marketplace as a leading public relations agency is well deserved,” said Merisant CEO Etienne Veber.  “The agency has strong relationships with the media, creative ideas and a solid track record in supporting successful food brands like Equal. We are confident that Edelman’s PR expertise will help us further build the Equal franchise.”

The account will be based in the Chicago office and led by Jennifer Petterson, general manager and executive vice president, consumer health. The work includes public relations support of the Equal brand nationwide.
