LONDON—MHP Communications—formed earlier this year by the merger of Mandate, Penrose Financial and Hogarth—has been appointed by Total UK, the British refining and marketing subsidiary of global energy company Total, as its retained PR agency.

Total U.K.’s six-figure brief covers both corporate PR and brand PR support. The brand PR work will focus on raising the profile of various initiatives within the Total U.K. retail division, whilst corporate PR will concentrate on raising reputation, CSR initiatives and promoting the Total core values.

According to Iain Cracknell, head of corporate communications at Total U.K., “We were looking for an agency that would be able to communicate both our corporate core messages, but that would also be capable of reaching out to our consumer audiences with a creative approach. The MHP team impressed us with their understanding of our business and their clear media acumen.”

MHP’s energy sector expertise includes current assignments with EDF Energy, Forth Energy and Infinis.
