BARCELONA—Wendy Gold, regional consumer and digital PR lead for Microsoft in the EMEA region, will be just one of several high-profile public relations professionals presenting at the third annual Holmes Report EMEA ThinkTank Live conference, which will take place in Barcelona on May 30, ahead of our annual SABRE Awards dinner.

Gold (pictured) will be joined by Kate Steele, senior director and Microsoft client relationship lead for Weber Shandwick, which is the lead sponsor of this year’s conference. The event will focus on new forms of storytelling, and will also feature several winners of our Silver SABRE Awards for Excellence in Content Creation.

Gold leads Microsoft consumer and online influencer activities across Europe, Middle East and Africa, working with Microsoft communications managers across the region to set the company’s corporate image agenda and drive consumer campaign activities across social media and mainstream press.

She joined Microsoft in 2006, after five years leading executive and organisation communications at General Electric, covering CEO communications across Europe and Asia. She started her career in journalism and worked with the International Herald Tribune, Bloomberg, and AP-Dow Jones, as well as producing documentary films for Discovery Channel.

Steele leads a team that covers over 60 markets across the globe, working with Microsoft on rolling out “Storytelling: From Content to Conversation” and leading sessions for hundreds of employees across Europe, Latin America, Asia-Pacific and the Middle East, ensuring that the storytelling methodology is part of the company’s culture.

Steele joined Weber Shandwick in August 2010 after eight years at Publicis Groupe’s MSL operation, in a variety of roles including head of the UK corporate practice. Before embarking on career in Public relations, Steele was A freelance broadcaster, creating reports and hosting programmes for BBC TV, BBC Radio 4 and a variety of regional and specialist stations.

Tickets for the ThinkTankLive event and the SABRE Awards dinner can be ordered using these forms.
