NEW YORK—Don Middleberg, who launched his new firm Middleberg Communications in June, is joining forces with reputation management pioneer Alan Towers, founder and CEO of TowersGroup. The merger of the two firms will create a new, full-service agency that will operate as Middleberg Communications, with TowersGroup as a subsidiary.

Middleberg will serve as CEO of the combined firms. Scott Sunshine, a principal of TowersGroup, has been named president of the TowersGroup subsidiary and will be a principal of the parent company, while Towers will serve as chairman of the subsidiary. The combined firm will have revenues exceeding $2 million and ten employees.

Middleberg grew his former agency, Middleberg & Associates, into a 150-employee, $20 million operation before selling it to Euro RSCG, a division of Havas, in June 2000.

According to Towers, “The joining of our firms allows me both to serve clients and to spend time on reputation management planning and counseling. The experience, resources and talent pool Don brings to our firm’s clients are unmatched.”
