NEW YORK—Euro RSCG Middleberg has added Meredith Interactive, the Meredith division responsible for the publisher’s Web sites BHG.com and LHJ.com, to its growing media and publishing practice. In addition to Meredith Interactive, the firm’s media and publishing clients also include industry leaders such as Consumer Reports and Thomson Learning.

“The holiday season is a critical time for us and Middleberg demonstrated both a strong understanding of where we are as well as where we need to be,” said David Kurns, editor-in-chief of Meredith Interactive. Added Doug Olson, vice president and business manager: “We needed an agency that not only understands the complexities of our ever-changing industry, but one that also brings a new perspective to our group and will help us build our business.”

Middleberg president Aaron Kwittken says the firm’s focus on helping client deal with dramatic change is perfectly suited to the publishing sector.

“As recent headlines have demonstrated, the publishing industry is in flux and many key players are wrestling with significant communications issues,” he says. “Challenges specific to the industry are being compounded by the crisis in corporate ethics and the uncertain advertising landscape. In addition, with the growth of consumer trends like nesting and a renewed interest in reading and getting back to basics, many new opportunities have arisen.”

Two new team members have joined Middleberg’s publishing group and Victoria Grantham, an assistant vice president at the firm, will spearhead the division’s growth and development.
